babies and friends and thrifting and crafting

Thank you so much for all of your kind words! Hubby and I are SO EXCITED! Right now I'm 14 weeks along and am due August 9th. Please say a prayer for a heathly baby, no matter the gender (which we'll find out in about six weeks!).

My new friend Jaime came over today to do some sewing, which we actually didn't do, we went to lunch, talked, and then came back and she knitted while I did some other crafting (see below). It was so nice getting together just to hang out and relax. Hi, Jaime! I know you're out there. :)

We also hit a thrift store on the way back and I got some more vintage sheets for my upcoming vintage sheet quilt. I've been looking for some sheets with more contrast because most of my sheets are all white with small prints, and I found a cute print that should go nicely.

I decided three days ago I wanted to make these adorable valentines for my kindergartners. I found the link to delia creates on MADE, one of my favorite blogs to check daily. We're having a class party on Monday afternoon and I always like to add a little something to their Valentine bags. So I printed them out, copied the box pattern on cardstock, and got to cutting! And more cutting. Way, way, too much cutting.

Luckily now I'm done cutting (the box part, anyway) and have started assembling the boxes. I'm going to put a piece of Laffy Taffy on the inside. They are looking so cute! I'll post a picture soon!

  1. Sounds like you had a great day! Those valentine boxes are adorable! Did you include the jokes? Because those are some awesome "groaners". Just right for kindergartners!

Prayers for a happy and healthy pregnancy!

  2. Hi Schell! I miss you! I'm hoping you're having a lovely pregnancy...I know how hard it is to make a person while also trying to educate them! xoxo

  3. Holy Crap. Did you really make those adorable little boxes for all your students? You are the coolest teacher ever. :D I have waaaaaaay too many students for that (Since I teach all the students at two schools!!). Sometimes I wish I had just one class so could do stuff like that, but now I have my own kid... :D
