When I saw this pattern for a Knuffle Bunny on emilie handmade, I knew I had to make one! One of my very dear friends is having a baby early next year, and since she's also a teacher I thought it would make a nice Christmas gift for her.
Knuffle Bunny will be accompanied by a copy of the original book. There is also a Knuffle Bunny Too and a Knuffle Bunny Free! Mo Willems is a great writer. Have you ever seen Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus?
I do have one question that I'd like to pose to you: Is it bad to give my pregnant friend a baby gift for Christmas? I'm also giving her a baby quilt closer to when the baby is born, but I really wanted to do this for her. Is it considered bad etiquette? Discuss. :)
So, your friend will love getting something for the baby for Christmas! Especially if she's a first time mom. Too funny that we grabbed Knuffle bunny and knuffle bunny too at the library yesterday!!! We love Mo too!
ReplyDeletei have no idea about the gift ediquette, but if you want to give it to her as a gift, why not? that's my thought. i love the knuffle bunny you made...it's sweet! paired with the book will make such a great/thoughtful gift. i wanted to do that with little pea (another GREAT kids book), but haven't managed to get around to it yet.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your knuffle bunny! I have all the pigeon and knuffle bunny books, and my "older" kids love them too. I love the way the little girl gets bigger and more articulate in each successive knuffle bunny, and that pigeon kills me.
Hey, that reminds me, we were reading Pigeon Wants a Puppy and (spoiler alert!) my kids (3rd grade) didn't know what a walrus was. What the heck!
